Many salons in the UK are utilising all sort of communication technology to keep their clients up-to-date and happy with the services they offer. Those attending nail courses have today been told about the importance of confirming client meetings either by phone, including text messaging, or via e-mail.

We analysed some of the reasons for and against using texts to maintain contact.

Pros

  • Easy for clients to make appointments, even when they’re at work!
  • Easier for clients to notify you that they may be late.
  • Easier to ask a quick question.
  • Stand out from other local nail techs by utilising technology.
  • Written confirmation of bookings.

Cons

  • Clients might call you in the early hours
  • Privacy concerns
  • Too many portals for communication. For many, in salon telephone calls is more than enough.

Many of the younger generations use their mobile phones almost every waking hour. With such an emphasis on technology, its no wonder many salons are investing in state-of-the-art booking systems that automatically text message customers with a reminder that their nail treatment is due.

If becoming a nail technician seems like a great idea, then some nail courses may be of interest. They range from one to five days duration and provide successful students with ABT accredited certificates.
