One of the first fish pedicure treatment salons has closed recently due to “financial trouble”.

Students on nail courses doubted the longevity of the fish treatments, due to the possible hygiene risks and the fact that this new treatment opposed the well-established standard pedicure.

The company was run by a husband and wife team, Ho and To Chan, who also unsuccessfully sought investment from the investors starring on Dragons Den, the  hit UK TV show.

The close of the these salons has cast doubt over the future of this once in-fashion treatment.
