Students on nail courses who are thinking of new treatments to offer their clients should look towards the latest trends in the market.

Crackle-effect polish a new type of nail polish which produces interesting effects has been worn by stars such as Katy Perry at premiers and events.

Other stars have been seen on the catwalks and movie premiers throughout the world wearing stunning cracked-effect nail polish.

The polish separates while drying on the nail and creates a two-tone cracked look for the nails.

Some say this special effects nail polish will not remain popular with the more standard colours being cheaper and, in some people’s opinion, more sophisticated.

We asked nail technician, Sally Peters, what she thought of the new range and hype surrounding this amazing polish: Sally says, “I love it and my clients do too. The only downside is the price. Many of my clients have it done once and then just revert back to the normal polish”

Students on nail courses were told of the importance of having a large enough range of nail polish in their salons to cater for all their client’s tastes. Whether all salons or students will purchase a bottle of this new style of polish, remains to be seen.

The new ranges are available at most popular beauty stores throughout the country.
